The FBI is looking to small businesses for an information technology support services contract, according to an Oct. 10 notice on the Federal Business Opportunities Web site.
The project involves designing and supporting automated IT systems on the FBI's mainframes and computers, the presolicitation notice states. The bureau plans to issue a request for proposals around Oct. 22.
The FBI plans to issue 10 indefinite-delivery, indefinite-quantity contracts to small businesses on the new IT Operations Division task order contract. They could be worth as much as $175 million, the notice states, and will have a base period ending Sept. 30, 2008, in addition to four optional one-year periods.
The issued task orders will require contractors to have active top-secret security clearances that have been issued or revalidated in the past five years, the notice states.
