Bids and proposals

Student information system

The Virginia Education Department and the Virginia Information Technologies Agency will be seeking a contractor to provide a student information system for the state's public schools. A request for proposals is expected in November.

The winning contractor must provide a scalable, user-friendly system that adheres to the technical specifications of the schools' interoperability framework. Components must address attendance, registration and enrollment, grading and transcripts, scheduling, test management, and parent access.

Transportation procurement system

Arizona's Regional Public Transportation Authority will be seeking a contractor to provide a procurement system. An RFP is expected in November.

The system must conduct paperless processes, aggregate orders, facilitate online bidding, promote open competition, capitalize on the agency's buying power, and post information about commodities and services.

Eligibility needs assessment

The Public Assistance Division of the Alaska Health and Social Services Department will be seeking a contractor to conduct a comprehensive needs assessment and feasibility study for an eligibility information system. An RFP is expected in December.

The division wants a consulting firm to evaluate its current and future business needs and recommend alternatives for its existing eligibility information system.

These opportunities are compiled by Input Inc., a Reston, Va., market research firm (www.input.com).
