Director of National Intelligence Michael McConnell released a 100-dayintegration and collaboration plan
this week designed to improve operations among the 16 government intelligence agencies he oversees.
The 11-page plan has six goals. They are:
- Create a culture of collaboration
- Integrate analytic products
- Improve technology acquisition
- Modernize business practices
- Accelerate information-sharing
- Clarify and align the authorities of the director
"Each objective was developed to achieve rapid and significant performance gains by increasing integration and facilitating collaboration throughout the intelligence community and with public and private sector partners," the plan states.
For improving technology leadership and acquisition, the strategy recommends naming an acquisition director and developing a plan to ensure adequate funding and implementation. Also listed among the goals is the need to develop a robust research capability.
Among the business practice goals is the desire to improve the security clearance project, create budgets and strategic priorities for the department and strengthen financial management.
