The Naval Air Systems Command has awarded a 12-month recompete contract to Teradata, a division of NCR Government Systems LLC, for support services to a naval logistics data center. The contract has one option year. Teradata would not comment on the amount the contract was worth.

The Navy will collect data as far back as 1981 for all its air assets, from maintenance to flight history, and have Teradata perform an analysis of the information. The results will provide the Navy with information it can apply to future flight and other operations so that preventive measures can be taken to ensure that aircraft are performing up to the highest standards.

Teradata will oversee NAVAIR's Decision Knowledge Programming for Logistics Analysis and Technical Evaluation Logistic Data Center, a new reporting system that is the next-generation data warehouse for aircraft maintenance and flight and data usage.

NAVAIR is responsible for the definition and implementation of information requirements and information technology solutions for naval aviation maintenance and logistics worldwide.
