WorldCell to acquire Mobile-Mind

WorldCell Inc. acquired Mobile-Mind Inc., a developer of subscriber identity module and smart-card technologies, said WorldCell officials. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Mobile-Mind's products and intellectual property are important additions to WorldCell and will enable the company to provide more global managed wireless services, said S. Blake Swensrud, WorldCell's chief executive officer. SIM applications development is a critical factor in delivering advanced wireless, he said.

WorldCell of Silver Spring, Md., and Mobile-Mind of Watertown, Mass., plan to begin demonstrating mobile applications to select customers in the second quarter.

WorldCell is a wireless services company that offers global voice and data mobile services for government, enterprise and mobile professionals.
