Calif. county taps Identix for biometric work

Under the $1.1 million contract, Identix of Minnetonka, Minn., will furnish the agency with its Full Hand TouchPrint High Definition 3800 live scan system. The system is certified by the FBI for 1,000 pixels per inch image capture and transmission.

The company expects to begin shipping and installing the live scan systems covered under the contract before the end of March.

The 3800 live scan system is the core of Identix TouchPrint High Definition Law Enforcement ID Solution. The full solution contains central administration tools for performing individual system updates and configurations, monitors the quality of fingerprint submissions by the operator and provides Web-based reporting for viewing the performance of individual live scan systems in the network.

Identix has more than 480 employees and had annual sales of $73.8 million in fiscal 2005, according to Hoover's Online of Austin, Texas.
