A new software application from Siber Systems Inc. lets users securely manage and carry passwords and digital identities on a USB Flash drive, officials from the Fairfax, Va., company said.
The 3MB application, Pass2Go, is for those who don't want to store passwords, identities and banking and credit card information on their computer hard drives. Users plug in a USB drive that is loaded with Pass2Go to log in automatically to online accounts, fill in online forms or to access an address book. The personal information never appears on a client PC, it remains only on the USB drive.Appliance aims for automation
KACE Network Inc., Mountain View-Calif., released KBOX IT Management Suite 2.0, a secure server appliance that manages, monitors and controls inventory, distribution, patch, security, compliance, messaging, licensing and performance demands of a network.
The KBOX IT Management Suite automates routine and complex IT maintenance tasks, improves IT productivity and security, and promotes network uptime, KACE officials said.
KBOX supports plug-and-play deployment onto the LAN in standalone mode or can be configured to integrate with LAN services such as Lightweight Directory Access Protocol, Active Directory and storage area network facilities.New development environ available
Eiffel Software Inc., Goleta, Calif., released EiffelStudio 5.6, the latest version of its Integrated Development Environment.
New features include: Implementation of the diagram tool with enhanced performance and functions, including support for Unified Modeling Language view, and optimization of Microsoft .NET code.
EiffelStudio 5.6 is available on the following platforms: Windows Classic, .NET, and 64 bits; Linux, Linux PPC and 64 bits; FreeBSD; and Solaris 10 on Sparc, Sparc 64, and x86; SGI Irix.
