Inside track

Tag! You're it

The U.S. Army Tank-Automotive and Armaments Command in Picatinny Arsenal, N.J., is looking for a system that can tag people who move or disturb material without authorization. The system should mark individuals in a way undetectable to casual inspection but observable through enhanced vision technology, ultraviolet light and other detection gear.

The command also wants visual markings that are difficult to remove from clothing and skin. The marking systems should be effective for three days or longer, require less than a minute to apply, be easily portable and environmentally safe.

The fully implemented system should link existing state migrant education program systems, use common data standards and improve data collection and management. It also should give unduplicated counts of migrant students on a statewide and national basis.
