Tier Technologies Inc. has won a five-year, $2.7 million contract from the Mississippi Department of Information Technology to provide an e-procurement system for the state's purchasing agency, the company announced this week.
Tier of Reston, Va., will implement a general purchasing system with e-procurement capabilities for the Mississippi Department of Finance and Administration's Office of Purchasing and Travel.
Tier also will integrate the system with the Mississippi Statewide Automated Accounting System.
Tier's e-procurement solution will fully automate the procurement process for the agency, including the electronic creation, publication, tabulation and maintenance of bids and contracts and the presentation of state term contracts in electronic catalogs.
Tier Technologies, a provider of transaction processing and packaged software and systems integration solutions for the government sector, has about 1,000 employees and annual sales of $127 million.
