Switch to embedded security

Broadcom Corp., a provider of integrated semiconductor solutions for broadband communications, has released StrataXGS III, a switch solution that includes integrated Ethernet switch chips and embedded security, officials from the Irvine, Calif., company said.

The StrataXGS III switches incorporate ubiquitous security, wire-speed IPv6 routing and wireless LAN support. The switch architecture has multi-layer 72-Gbps duplex packet processing.

Broadcom officials say the product is helpful when deploying new applications and when voice, video and data has intensified network use.
