Software for wireless equipment

A new software platform is designed to help device manufacturers bring wireless LAN products to market faster and for a low price, said officials at Instant802 Networks Inc. in Brisbane, Calif.

The company's Enterprise Managed AP software platform enables secured wireless networks without the need for additional management applications or special WLAN switches.

Multiple access points can be deployed to cover a workspace, several buildings or across thousands of miles as a self-managed cluster of APs. All the APs in the cluster share a single configuration profile and can be managed as though they were a single AP.
