Mesh networking system available

Strix Systems Inc. released Access/One Network Outdoor Wireless System, a WiFi cellular system designed for outdoor deployments in public safety, rural and metropolitan are networks.

Strix of Calabasas, Calif., provides wireless mesh networking systems. The Access/One system uses multiple radios, channels and radio frequency technologies to build mesh backbones and connectivity, Strix officials said.

The system's modular design makes the network scalable and able to incorporate future technologies such as WiMAX, a standards-based wireless technology that provides high-throughput broadband connections over long distances.
