Northrop Grumman nabs Indianapolis outsourcing deal

Northrop Grumman Information Technology Inc. has won a $46 million contract from Indianapolis/Marion County, Ind., for outsourced IT services, the company announced this week.

Northrop Grumman Information Technology Inc. has won a $46 million contract from Indianapolis/Marion County, Ind., for outsourced IT services, the company announced this week. The five-year contract has three one-year options.

Northrop Grumman Information Technology of Herndon, Va., will provide onsite management, operation and support of the customer's data center, networks, distributed computing, help desk and application services.

The outsourcing is expected to result in improvements in quality, innovation, customer service, risk avoidance and cost effectiveness, the company said.

The company's team includes Netwise Resources Inc., Indianapolis; I.T. Business Corp., Indianapolis; CyberDyne Systems Inc., Dallas; Globe-Tech Exchange, Dayton, Ohio; and Ciber Inc., Denver.

Northrop Grumman IT is a unit of Northrop Grumman Corp. of Los Angeles. The company has more than 120,000 employees and annual sales of $26.2 billion.
