Medicare data centers needed

The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services will issue a request for proposals to establish enterprise data center services as part of its modernization effort.

CMS, an agency of the Health and Human Services Department, will create multiple data centers that will be owned and operated by a number of vendors, according to an Oct. 15 notice on FedBiz

Opps.

Contractors should know how to process Medicare claims and handle large volumes of transactions. The system will have to deal with tens of millions of transactions annually. The agency will issue a request for information by an industry day meeting Nov. 8.
