HP taps biometrics firm

Hewlett-Packard Co. will incorporate digital imaging, identification and biometric technology from San Diego-based ImageWare Systems Inc. into its Adaptive Enterprise security solutions for the government market, the companies said.

Adaptive Enterprise is HP's flavor of utility computing, which links IT resources to business processes on an as-needed basis.

ImageWare develops a variety of identity management solutions for government and law enforcement. The company's new Omni Biometric Engine is an identity verification tool that can capture, manage and search an unlimited number of biometric templates, including face, finger, iris, signature and palm.
