Broadcast solution for rescuers

Evoxis Inc. of Pittsburgh has launched a communications system that can transmit information to first responders over a variety of channels simultaneously. The new Prodigent for Emergency Management system allows personnel to broadcast information to phones, pagers and e-mail and instant messaging systems from a single point of operation.

Pennsylvania's Southwest Emergency Response Group, a regional anti-terrorism consortium that includes Pittsburgh and 13 neighboring counties, is the first government agency to adopt the new system. The group will host the application at an Evoxis data center, but the company also offers software that runs at the agency site.
