SI International net $50M in State Department IT work

SI International Inc. won a blanket purchase agreement for information technology professional services from the State Department, company officials announced July 1.

SI International estimates the value of the task orders to be performed under this five-year contract will exceed $50 million.

Under the agreement, the Reston, Va., company will provide technical and analytical support, software maintenance, training and systems development and integration. The company's work will support computer-based systems for immigrant visa-processing and interagency data exchange in the department and among other federal agencies.

"It's a major contract," said company spokesman Alan Hill. "The Department of State is a very important client of ours, and this win demonstrates our focus on mission-critical work."

SI International has assisted the State Department since 1997 under a similar contract.

SI International provides information technology and network solutions to the federal government. The company had $149.4 million in revenue in 2002, and employs 1,200 people.
