Will Roper, the former Air Force acquisition chief, has taken up a pair of new roles in the private sector announced over the course of this week.
As a member of Volansi’s board of directors, Roper will help that commercial drone company further iterate its strategy for growth in defense markets.
Volansi focuses on autonomous, vertical take-off and landing middle-mile drone delivery services and holds a spot on the Air Force’s Skyborg program through the Voly Defense Solutions subsidiary.
Roper has also joined the board of advisers at Red 6 to support that startup augmented reality company’s effort to get its flagship product further rolled out across the U.S. military services.
Lockheed Martin is an investor in Red 6 through the defense company’s ventures investment fund.
