SOS International has brought on board a three-decade CIA veteran to lead the company’s subsidiary focused on developing software tools to support the collection, analysis and application of data.
Dr. Barbara Stevens, formerly the CIA’s chief of data science, will lead the Exovera organization as its CEO.
“Her expertise and insights will help us optimize the big data solutions we are developing to accelerate their adoption and ease their integration into government analytic workflows and agency operations,” SOSi CEO Julian Setian said in a release.
Stevens joins Reston, Virginia-headquartered SOSi in a year that saw it close the acquisition of analytics software provider Northstar Systems, partner with robotic process automation outfit UiPath and acquire a partial stake in language processing firm AppTek.
Exovera was established in 2012 as a self-funded commercial enterprise within SOSi that provides curated monitoring and analysis services to customers in government and commercial sectors.
