Veterans Affairs struggles to award $466M hardware contract
The Veterans Affairs Department is struggling to field a $466.1 million contract to help it buy personal computers.
The Veterans Affairs Department is trying to launch a provisioning-as-a-service contract that has twice now been caught up in a bid protests.
The VA originally awarded the $466.1 million contract to Cynergy Professional Services in December and that was quickly protested by Colossal Contracting. A corrective action followed for the VA to take a second look at the awards.
With that second look, the VA decided Colossal was the better choice.
Cynergy has filed a protest as you can imagine. But so have Regan Technologies, ThunderCat Technology and Alvarez.
They are all arguing the VA didn’t conduct a proper evaluation. Absent another corrective action, a Government Accountability Office decision is expected in early June.
The VA is using the NASA SEWP vehicle to create this new contract to help it buy desktop PCs and laptops for the VA Technology Acquisition Service.
