General Dynamics retains $883M Army live training contract

General Dynamics' Mission Systems business will continue to support the Army’s live training transformation efforts under a $883 million contract.

GDMS first won the work in February 2015 when that prior contract worth $415 million, according to Deltek data. The Army obligated $356.9 million in task orders against the contract.

GDMS was the only bidder on the recompete, though the Defense Department said Thursday it solicited bids via the internet.

The contract supports the Army’s training infrastructure, both for personnel on base and while they are deployed. Training includes urban operations and live-fire range exercises.

GDMS will provide and support training systems including software components, architecture infrastructure, interfaces, processes, and IT assets. Work will support the whole live cycle of the training systems.

The new contract runs through Jan. 31, 2028. This award comes two months after GDMS secured a potential 10-year, $731.9 million contract to maintain ground infrastructure of military satellite communications as part of the Mobile User Objective System effort.
