DOD plans AI industry day

DOD is planning an industry day focused on artificial intelligence that includes one-on-one meetings with defense officials.
The Defense Department is planning its third annual Artificial Intelligence Industry Day including a chance for one-on-one meetings with DOD officials.
The event is being hosted by the Army Research Lab, the Algorithmic Warfare Cross-Functional Team (aka Project Maven) and the Joint Artificial Intelligence Center.
The event is slated for Nov. 13 at the Tommy Douglas Conference Center in Silver Spring, Maryland.
Some of the topics to be covered including training, data and inference platforms, algorithms, user experience, integration at the edge and testing.
Some of the data types DOD is interested in are full-motion video, moving target indicator radar, wide area motion imagery and still imagery s well spectrum, documents and social media data. Some of the AI capabilities under discussion include detection, tracking and classification, visual search, and natural language processing.
DOD also is interested in use cases including command and control, maneuver and fire and humanitarian assistance and disaster relief.
There will be presentations in the morning followed by one-on-one sessions in the afternoon. You must qualify to be part of the one-on-one sessions and you need to submit a capability brief or presentation.

If you want to participate in a one-on-one session, you need to submit your capability brief by Nov. 5. If you cannot attend, you have until Nov. 14 to submit your capability brief.
