Intell agencies looking for a better knowledge management tool kit

The intelligence community is looking to develop a new tool kit that can help agencies address their collaboration and knowledge management challenges.

The Defense Intelligence Agency posted a request for information today that outlines its goals for the effort.

IC agencies have had the Intelligence Community Management Tool since 2008 that provides a common workspace for officers from any intelligence agency. The tool kit provides for collaborative analysis of structure and unstructured data from multiple repositories.

The IC is looking to improve these capabilities. This includes search functions, visualization, geospatial applications, and web-based analytics and reporting capabilities.

The draft statement of work goes into detail about different requirements in nine different areas such as analytic support, data visualization, data integration, systems administration and user support.

The RFI also includes a series of questions they want answered including processes for ingesting data in the current system, recommendations on contract type, what contract line item numbers to use, and the availability of commercial solutions.

Responses to the RFI are due March 15.
