Perspecta, McKing takes spots on CDC geospatial contract

Perspecta and McKing Consulting Corp. have each received awards under a five-year, $48 million geospatial science and analysis contract from the Centers of Disease Control and Prevention.

Perspecta of Herndon, VA, received a $40 million award for the Geospatial Research, Analysis, and Services Program (GRASP) contract.

McKing Consulting of Fairfax, VA, received an $8 million award as the small business set-aside portion of the contract.

GRASP will provide the CDC with geographic information system science, analysis, technology and visualization, or GIS SATV, to various CDC agencies and multiple CIOs across the center’s Agency for Toxic Substances and Disease Registry and the public health community.

Officials will use GRASP to gather geospatial data, examine the geospatial trends, provide scientists with data, consulting, and technology. On a broad scale, they intend to use the support for collaboration with an array of scientists and public health partners, while promoting the use of technology.

The CDC announced the award Sept. 18.
