Orolia makes deal to bolster military offerings

Orolia, a company focused on the high-tech area of resilient positioning, navigation and timing has acquired a firm to address vulnerabilities in global navigation and search and rescue.
Orolia, a company focused on the high-tech area of resilient positioning, navigation and timing, has acquired another firm to address vulnerabilities in global navigation and search and rescue.
Known by the acronym PNT, the technology is a critical to the military, particularly for accurate communications, situational awareness and search and rescue missions. The technology is used to locate and track equipment around the globe.
Terms of the deal to acquire Talen-X were not disclosed. It still needs to clear approvals by the Defense Security Service and the Committee on Foreign Investment in the United States. Orolia is headquartered in France with a U.S. headquarters in Lanham, Maryland. Talen-X is based in Dayton, Ohio.
“Military personnel know that accurate and trusted time and position information is a critical enabler for almost all warfighting functions and systems” said Orolia CEO Jean-Yves Courtois in a release.
The acquisition of Talen-X adds more security offerings to Orolia's product portfolio.
“Our culture of innovation, together with our demonstrated testing capabilities, will complement Orolia’s global technology expertise and significantly enhance the reliability, performance and safety of military operations,” said Tim Erbes, CTO of Talen-X.
