Don't miss the chance to pursue a Fed 100 award

Nominations are being accepted for the Federal 100 awards and there is nothing stopping members of industry from nominating their own for going above and beyond the call of duty in serving the federal government.
Nominations for the annual Federal 100 awards don’t close until Dec. 23 but there is no reason to delay.
The annual awards recognize the most exceptional men and women serving the federal government in the past year and there is nothing in the rules that says that people from industry can’t be Fed 100 winners. In fact, each year there are several Fed 100 winners from the private sector.
In 2017, there were 22 winners from industry. But the more nominees the greater the number of industry winners we might have. And I know there are plenty of worthy nominees out there. You also can nominate your customers.
So think about who you want to nominate. Look around the office. Think about your partners.
What are the judges looking for? Keep these things in mind:
- Anyone in the federal IT community is eligible: career govvies, political appointees, contractors, academics, and even members of Congress.
- Awards are for individual accomplishments in 2017.
- Winners go above and beyond, whatever their level or rank. A fancy title is not a requirement. But just doing your job well isn’t enough either.
- You can make multiple nominations
- Impact matters. What did the nominee do? What was accomplished? Why was it important?

FCW has a panel of judges who will review the nominees and pick the 100 winners. They will be announced Feb. 1 and honored at the Fed 100 gala on March 22.
