AT&T names new DOD lead, VP strategy

AT&T's public sector group has named a new VP of defense and a VP of strategy, operations and technology in the wake of several recent high-level departures.
In the wake of a couple high-level departures, AT&T has realigned their public sector leadership under Xavier Williams.
Williams was named the leader of AT&T’s $15 billion public sector business in early October after Kay Kapoor stepped down as president.
After Kapoor left, Anthony Robbins, who led AT&T’s defense business, left to join Nvidia to run their public sector business.
Williams has named Mike Leff as Robbins' replacement. He will be vice president of defense. Leff was the head of strategy and operations.
In addition to Leff’s promotion, Xavier named Chris Smith to the post of vice president of strategy, operations and technology. He had previously led just technology efforts for AT&T’s public sector business.
"Mike and Chris are proven leaders with the ability to help public sector customers use our innovative technologies and services strategically," said Xavier.
