Polaris Alpha has won a $48 million contract to provide research, development and technical services to the Naval Research Laboratory Electronics Science and Technology Division.

Polaris Alpha has won a $48 million contract to provide research, development and technical services to the Naval Research Laboratory Electronics Science and Technology Division.

The Naval Research Lab develops new electronic materials, devices, components, and subsystems for next generation systems in support of customers throughout the lab, the Department of Defense and other federal government organizations.

Under the contract, Polaris Alpha will execute broad research and development from basic applied research on optoelectronic materials and devices for space and terrestrial applications where operation under situations of high environmental stress is required, the company said in a release.

Polaris Alpha was created in November 2016 as a result of Arlington Capital Partners merging three companies into one.
