VA looking for updates to iMedConsent system
The VA is looking for input on how it can update the login process for its iMedConsent system and connections to its Computerized Patient Record System.
The Veterans Affairs Department wants industry’s feedback on how to change the way its iMedConsent software logs on users and connects with the Computerized Patient Record System (CPRS).
The VA wants the software to let user sign-on with a Veterans Health Administration personal identification verification (PIV) card, instead of the CPRS log-on codes, according to a new RFI.
While the VA gets feedback, it is still developing system changes to CPRS to make it PIV compliant at the program level. The technical details are yet to be completely defined.
iMedConsent software is a client/service commercial-off-the-shelf product customized to meet VHA requirements.
The VA wants any proposed solution that is able to be fielded, tested and deployed by April 2017.
The VA requires whitepapers on solutions by Sept. 16.
The department announced its request for information Sept. 7.
