PPC takes on DHS cloud project for crime victims

Project Performance Company LLC has won a $14.5 million contract to build a cloud-based victim information notification exchange.

The Homeland Security Department’s Immigration and Customers Enforcement awarded the contract for the VINE system to be hosted on Amazon Web Services’ GovCloud.

The system will notify victims, witnesses and victim advocates when a criminal alien is released by a state into ICE custody or when the defendant’s custody status changes while in ICE custody, the company said in a press released.

The five-year contract includes a base year for implementation and four option years for operations and maintenance. Some of the services include project management, cloud hosting, integration and customization of commercial products, database administration, web development, information security and operations and maintenance.

PPC’s team includes Appriss Inc., a company that provides software-based services in the federal and state and local markets.

The win builds on similar work PPC does at the Justice Department where since 2009 it has supported DOJ’s Victim Notification System program.
