Booz continues fight for defense contract

Booz Allen Hamilton has found itself on the other side of a protest fight after having won and lost a competition to support the Defense Media Activity.
Back in April, I wrote about how Booz Allen Hamilton was facing a challenge from Hewlett-Packard and STG over a contract with the Defense Media Activity.
Booz Allen won a task order to support DMA through the NIH Chief Information Officers – Solutions and Partners 3 contract. HP and STG filed a protest, and the award to Booz Allen was pulled back so the government could take a second look.
Now, Booz Allen is on the other side of the protest equation. It has filed a protest because this time, it lost the contract, not to HP or STG, but to CGI Federal.
While CGI didn’t file a protest, it obviously was part of the competition from start and has benefited from the protests filed by HP and STG.
The value of the task order is likely more than $10 million because that is generally the threshold for protests involving task orders, but since it is a NIH CIO-SP task order, I don’t have much visibility into the task.
DMA maintains websites such as the Defense.gov. It also provides news, information and entertainment to military personnel, civilian employees, contractors, retirees and their families in the United States and overseas, according to its website.
Booz Allen filed its protest Sept. 29 and the Government Accountability Office expects to make a ruling by Jan. 7, unless of course there’s another corrective action.
