Company dishes out $7.8M for falsely claiming 8(a) status

LB&B Associates is dishing out $7.8 million to settle claims that the company falsely represented itself as a small disadvantaged business, Federal Times reports.

The false claims allowed the company to illegally qualify for set aside contracts under the Small Business Administration’s 8(a) program.

Two former employees were responsible for bringing the case to light as whistleblowers, Federal Times said.
