ViaSat has acquired a company that is focused on network virtualization, which the company says will add management flexibility to its global satellite-ground system.
Terms of the deal for Engreen were not disclosed.
Engreen’s main product enhances network management, lowers capitals expenses, energy and real estate costs and minimizes overall network complexity, ViaSat said in a release.
With the acquisition, ViaSat gains a presence in San Jose, Calif., and Bangalore, India.
“This transaction will enhance our ability to rapidly create, deploy and manage services in our Flexible Broadband System,” said Kevin Harkenrider, senior vice president, commercial networks.
ViaSat is ranked No. 87 on the 2015 Washington Technology Top 100 and some of its government customers include the Defense Department, Commerce, Interior, NASA and GSA.
