Justice seeks AWS small-biz provider

The Justice Department’s Office of Justice Program is collecting information on small businesses that can help it use Amazon Web Services to improve security and lower costs.

The agency wants to deploy a network/cybersecurity stack in Seattle, according to a new request for information. The security stack needs tobe collocated at a “point of delivery” or POD within an Amazon Web Services approved data center that is close to a AWS FedRamp-certified government cloud. It also needs to be on the west coast of the United States.

The location will need to provide power, space and network connectivity for an Office of Justice Programs hybrid cloud network security stack, according to the RFI.

The scope of work described in the RFI includes redundant power, redundant connectivity to AWS Direct Connect, and redundant Internet connectivity to the OJP network/cybersecurity stack.

The agency said an AWS cloud solution integrated with the OJP network security stack will reduce costs, enable centralized management and enhance security.
