DISA extends due date for $475M cyber contract

DISA has extended the due date for its $475 million multiple-award U.S. Cyber Command IDIQ contract.

The contract is designed to make it easier for the Defense Department and the rest of the military to buy cybersecurity and related products and services.

The new due date is June 19, nearly three weeks beyond the original May 30 deadline.

The contract will support three main areas, according to the RFP:

• Defend DOD information networks
• Support combatant commands around the world
• Strengthen the nation’s ability to withstand and respond to strategic cyber-attacks

The contract primarily is for professional services to support mission support, IT and cyber support needs. It can be used by all of DOD as well as other federal agencies. Some of the task areas described the solicitation include:

• Knowledge management
• Records management
• Cyber operations
• Science and technology/research and development
• Cyber-focused training
• Cyber exercises
• Business process reengineering
• All-source intelligence
• Strategy, policy and doctrine development

The contract is expected to run for five years with awards being made in the Fall.
