Labor plans for 5-year cloud IDIQ

Labor’s Office of Apprenticeship Modernization wants a solution to upgrade its IT tools and infrastructure since it plans to double the number of apprentices in the next five years, according to a new sources sought notice. To prepare, the office needs the upgrades to increase program efficiency and enhance accountability.
In fiscal 2014, the Office of Information Systems and Technology and the Office of Apprenticeship worked together on a demo of a cloud-based and commercial off-the-shelf business process management software product. The department recognized the benefits and want to expand the solution elsewhere.
The department’s goal is a business process solution that is able to modernize and displace the services exiting in the legacy Registered Apprenticeship Partners Information Data System (RAPIDS). It wants the services in a cloud environment. The department expects changes to improve accessibility for stakeholders.
The Labor Department released a sources sought notice June 19. Responses are due June 26.
