Northrop nabs $48M in naval aviation support contracts

Northrop Grumman Systems Corp. has picked up two Navy aviation support contracts worth a combined $48 million.

The first contract is a $31 million indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract to support 44 Navy and Marine Corps Reserve F-5N/F Tiger II adversary trainer aircraft in St. Augustine, Fla.

The contract entails maintenance, aircraft inspections and engineering support and is slated to finish by March 2015.

Funds in the amount of $7,386,924 were obligated at the time of the award, all of which will expire at the end of the current fiscal year.

The second contract is a $17 million modification to a previously awarded contract, calling for additional support for the Common Aviation Command and Control developmental test.

Work will be performed primarily in Camp Pendleton, Calif. and Linthicum Heights, Md., and should be completed by June 30, 2014.

Funds in the amount of $17,150,542 were obligated at the time of the award and will expire at the end of the current fiscal year.
