ATF plan to overhaul old criminal info system

The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives wants to update its defunct information system built in the 1998.

ATF has a requirement to develop its Next Generation Case Management System (NGCMS), using agile development best practices and a Commercial Off-the-Shelf (COTS) Business Process Management Suite (BPMS). ATF wants a contractor that will use a BPMS platform, agile methodology and software development best practices to develop NGCMS.

The primary objective for ATF’s case management system is to capture relevant criminal activities and push intelligence reports to analysts targeting trends.

In a new request for information, ATF wants to know if it can buy a COTS solution or if any companies have deployed similar solutions. It’s also asking about experience in agile development, technical infrastructures, and accessibility by mobile devices.

The deadline for response is May 7.
