Syntel promotes CEO to executive vice chairman, selects successor

Syntel Inc. has named current president and CEO Prashant Ranade executive vice chairman of the company’s board of directors, effective April 21, 2014.

He will be replaced as president and CEO by Nitin Rakesh, who is currently president, Americas, business development and Near Shoring Center.

Rakesh joined Syntel in late 2012. Before joining the company, Rakesh served as CEO and managing director of Motilal Oswal Asset Management Company.
