National Security Partners brings on new chairman and SVP

National Security Partners LLC, has named a new chairman and added a senior vice president.

The firm tapped retired Lt. Gen. Ronald L. Burgess Jr., to serve as chairman of the board. Burgess will bring extensive intelligence experience and will help craft the company’s strategic vision, National Security Partners said in a news release.

While serving in the Army, Burgess held many intelligence-related positions, including director of the Defense Intelligence Agency and multiple positions with the Office of the Director of National Intelligence. He holds a bachelor’s degree from Auburn University, a master’s degrees from the University of Southern California and the U.S. Army Command and General Staff College.

The company also hired Mark Young as a new senior vice president and chief strategist.

Young has more than 25 years of experience coordinating national security policy, including an executive director position at U.S. Cyber Command and a stint as special counsel for defense intelligence on the House of Representatives’ Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence.

A retired naval officer, Young hold a master’s degree in strategic intelligence from the Joint Military Intelligence College and a juris doctorate from the University of Maryland.
