Bureau of Land Management looking for modernized record system

The Bureau of Land Management is looking to develop a Minerals and Lands Records System that will enable storage and retrieval of public land and mineral records.

Currently, the bureau relies on the Legacy Re-host 2000 program and the Alaska Land Information System for the storage, maintenance and reporting of its land records and management data, but both programs are antiquated.

The Mineral and Lands Records System, or MLRS system, is intended to provide the bureau, its partners, Congress and private-interest stakeholders using public lands with the information that each needs, according to the RFI.

Responses are due January 3, 2014.
