Two win $31.8M contract to research supersonic engines
Taitech Inc. and Innovative Scientific Solutions have won a $31.8 million task order contract to support the Air Force's research and development efforts around supersonic engines.
Taitech Inc. and Innovative Scientific Solutions have won a $31.8 million task order contract to provide the Air Force resarch and development support for supersonic engines.
Known as the Technology for Sustained Supersonic Combustion, or TSSC, the program focuses on the research and development of components and diagnostics for high-speed air breathing propulsion systems and their integration into air vehicles, weapons and launch systems, the Defense Department said.
Work will be performed at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, Ohio, and is expected to be completed by Oct. 31, 2020.
Funding in the amount of $1 million is obligated to Taitech at the time of the award. Funding in the amount of $3.9 million is obligated to Innovative Scientific Solutions. The two will compete for task orders under the contract.
They were the only bidders.
