GSA extends OASIS deadline

GSA changes some past performance requirements and decides to extend the deadline for proposals for its $60 billion OASIS professional services contract.
The General Services Administration has extended the deadline for the $60 billion OASIS contract by nearly a month.
The new due date for proposals for the unrestricted and the small business portions of the program is now 4 p.m., Oct. 10. The old deadline was Sept. 17.
A GSA spokeswoman said that the extension was made to give companies more time to prepare their bids in light of changes to the past performance requirements.
GSA reduced the required number of past performance examples from five to three. That change was made after feedback from the small business community.
“Based upon this change, GSA felt it only fair to provide some additional time for interested parties to prepare their offers for OASIS-SB and OASIS,” the statement says.
The change also pushes the due date to after the end of the 2013 fiscal year, so companies will get some relief from the end of year rush because they won't have to finish a final proposal on a $60 billion opportunity.

The OASIS contract is intended to be a professional services contract covering program management, management consulting, scientific, engineering, logistics and financial support services that agencies can acquire.
