SAIC names new leader for intelligence group

Samuel Gordy takes over as general manager of SAIC's integrated systems group in its National Security Sector, a precursor unit of the Leidos business that will be created when SAIC splits later this year.
Science Applications International Corp. named Samuel Gordy as the leader of the company’s integrated systems group under its National Security Sector.
The NSS is part of SAIC that will help form Leidos once SAIC splits into two new companies later this year. The other parts of Leidos will be drawn from SAIC’s health and engineering businesses.
As general manager of the group, Gordy will lead 3,800 employees focused on high-end intelligence solutions for military and other government users, the company said Wednesday.
His background includes active duty as a Navy intelligence officer. During his career, he has supported operational and technical intelligence missions including naval operations responding to the Soviet Union, Libya, anti-terrorist operations and Operation Just Cause in Panama and Operation Desert Shield and Storm in Iraq.
Most recently, Gordy was the acting general manager of the integrated solutions group.
He has a bachelor’s degree in foreign service from Georgetown University and a masters of business administration from the George Washington University.
