IBM to integrate AF pay systems

Under a $12 million contract, IBM will design an ERP system to integrate the Air Force's military personnel and pay process into a single system.
IBM Corp. has won an $11.9 million contract to integrate the Air Force military personnel and pay processes into a single system.
The company will design an enterprise resource planning-based solution to meet the Air Force requirement under the Air Force Integrated Personnel and Pay System or AF-IPPS.
Work will be performed at Hanscom Air Force Base in Massachusetts and in Bethesda, Md.
"IBM is eager to bring a modern and streamlined personnel and payroll system to the brave men and women who serve the Air Force," said Anne Altman, general manager, U.S. federal, IBM, in a statement provided to Washington Technology. "IBM continues to be a trusted partner for government agencies looking transform their legacy systems using modern tools and technologies."
The contract was a competitive procurement with six bids. Fiscal 2012 funds in the full amount of the contract were obligated at the time of award.
The Air Force Life Cycle Management Center is the contracting activity. IBM’s contract number is FA87827-13-C-0002.
