While most federal managers are positive about the promises of big data, only a few have the skills to effectively make use of it, a study conducted by the Government Business Council and Booz Allen Hamilton showed.
It comes down to the skills that hiring managers are searching for, and for the most part, they are looking for professionals who have a combination of Hadoop and Java skills, NextGov reported.
Other good skills include Hadoop combined with Developer, Map Reduce, Pig, Linux, Python, Hive and Scala.
