Navy considers Dell-only procurement

The Navy is looking to buy some laptops and workstations, but they must be Dell products.
The Naval Air Systems Command is looking to buy a laptop and some workstations, but is requiring bidders to only submit Dell products in their proposals.
According to a solicitation posted this week on the FedBizOpps, the command is looking for one Dell Latitude laptop, and nine Dell Precision R5500 rack workstations.
The solicitation cites FAR 52.211-6 as the basis for making the procurement on a brand name basis.
The procurement also is being let as a small-business set aside contract.
Responses to the proposal are due Feb. 5.
