Sierra Nevada Corp. to support explosive ordnance disposal personnel's CREW program.
Sierra Nevada Corp. has won a $65.8 million contract modification with the Navy to provide the transmitting set, countermeasures AN/PLT-5, to support explosive ordnance disposal personnel.
According to a Defense Department announcement last Friday, joint service explosive ordnance forces have a requirement for man-portable equipment and support for the explosive ordnance Counter Radio Controlled Improvised Explosive Device Electronic Warfare program, or CREW.
The program ensures an electronic warfare capability for all military explosive ordnance services, one that makes it possible to counter the threat from improvised explosive devices, the announcement said.
The contract itself combines purchases for the Army, Navy and Marine Corps. Work will be performed in Sparks, Nev., and contract funds will not expire at the end of fiscal 2012.
The Naval Surface Warfare Center, Indian Head Division, is the contracting activity.
Sierra Nevada Corp. is ranked No. 100 on Washington Technology’s 2012 Top 100 Federal Prime Contractors list.
