Navy picks 5 for option year of antiterrorism contract

Five companies have won the third option year of an antiterrorism and force protection contract with the Naval Facilities Engineering Service Center, Port Hueneme, Calif.

The contract calls for engineering services related to performing quantitative vulnerability and risk assessments, which are key to assessing terrorist and other criminal threats; work includes antiterrorism training, as well as the development of security countermeasures, should any vulnerability be discovered. 

After this option year is exercised, the total contract value will be $115 million, a Defense Department announcement said. For the option year itself, the combined total value for the five contractors is $33 million.

Contractors who won the option year are:

Integrity Consulting Solutions LLC
Prevailance Inc.
Quintech Security Consultants Inc.
Risk Management Associated Inc.
Trinity Applied Strategies Corp.

No funds will be obligated with this award; no task orders are currently being issued; and contract funds will not expire at the end of fiscal 2012, the announcement said.

Work is expected to be completed by September 2013, and will take place at the various contractors’ sites within the United States.
