Harris names new VP of business development

Harris Corp. has appointed Gregory Taylor as vice president of corporate strategy and business development.

Taylor has 23 years of experience in strategic planning, business development and general management. He joins Harris from United Technologies Corp., where he served as vice president of sales, marketing, strategy and business development for UTC Automation and Controls Solutions.

Before his time at UTC, Taylor held positions as Investor Growth Capital, George Group, Bain and Co. and General Electric Astrospace.

He received his bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, moving on to get his master’s degree in the same field at Rutgers University. Taylor also holds a master’s degree in industrial administration from Carnegie Mellon University.

Taylor will report to Harris president and CEO Bill Brown, who said that Taylor “will play a key role in establishing and aligning our overall strategic direction, investments and new market development for the future.”
